Sexting in Cyberspace

I came across an article the other day titled 6 Things Kids don't know about Sexting but Should . It was a very interesting and surprising thing to read. What's more interesting is that I come across articles similar t this one a lot and even when talking to young men and women about an activity like sexting, many of them really have no idea some of the ramifications and consequences of their actions. Sexting is a fairly new act that teens are engaging in however, I think its time to start teaching these parents how to explain things like this. Many parents don't know how to form an open and honest relationship with their children, or they are too strict so the child might shut down or do the opposite of what you were trying to prevent. I just feel like there should be more focus on informing and teaching parents versus giving these hard consequences to the child.
